PRINCESS CRUISES LAUNCHES NEW SEAWITCH BEER.

Princess Cruises Launches New Seawitch Beer

Princess Cruises is launching a new beer to toast its forthcoming 50th anniversary.

The Seawitch West Coast IPA – named after the line’s logo – has been developed exclusively for Princess Cruises in partnership with US-based Strike Brewing Company.  The beer will be introduced onboard Princess Cruises’ newest ship, Regal Princess, when it provides the setting for Princess Cruises’ 50th anniversary celebrations in November this year and is expected to be available fleetwide by early 2015.

Princess Cruises Vice President Australia & New Zealand Stuart Allison said the cruise line was eagerly counting down to its 50th anniversary celebrations.

“Being able to raise a glass of our own Seawitch beer will make for the ideal toast. We hope all of our guests, from those who have travelled around the world with Princess Cruises to those just starting out, will celebrate our milestone anniversary onboard with us,” Mr Allison said.

Princess Cruises Vice President of Food and Beverage Services Jonathan Wilson said the Seawitch West Coast IPA not only commemorated Princess Cruises’ milestone anniversary, it was also meant to inspire guests to celebrate their sea journeys with Princess.

“We know our guests love distinct experiences and authentic flavours so we’re excited to debut a new craft beer series with this special 50th anniversary blend aboard our newest ship,” Mr Wilson said.

The Seawitch West Coast IPA (India Pale Ale) features the balanced aroma of lightly roasted malt and barley which is strongly accented by the crisp dry flavour of a unique hop blend.

Further Seawitch beers, developed in partnership with regional breweries specialising in local flavours, are set to be introduced from next year and will represent some of the cruise destinations Princess Cruises’ ships visit.  Princess Cruises will officially launch its 50th anniversary year with the naming ceremony of Regal Princess on November 5 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The company is honouring the role the Love Boat played in its history by having the original Love Boat cast members serve as godparents for its newest cruise ship.
