P&O Cruises Scores Big with Sports Fans
Footy fans will have a ball onboard P&O Cruises’ ships this winter, with the cruise line set to screen live coverage of the upcoming FIFA World Cup as well as a host of other major sporting events.
P&O Cruises’ guests will be able to keep up with the action during June and July with a number of World Cup matches shown on the big screen and in other public areas across P&O Cruises’ three ships.
P&O Cruises Senior Vice President Tammy Marshall said it was only natural that P&O Cruises would add one of the biggest sporting events in the world to its line-up of live onboard sports coverage, given Australians’ passion for sport.
As well as screening the FIFA World Cup matches, P&O Cruises will continue to air live footage of the upcoming NRL and AFL seasons, as well as showing action live from the Melbourne Cup and Australian Open during its dedicated P&OMainEvents cruises to Melbourne in November and January.
“Australians are a nation of diehard sports fans so it’s hardly surprising that we received great feedback from our passengers when we began screening live footage of NRL and AFL matches in 2012,” Ms Marshall said.
“We’re confident the World Cup matches will also score a goal with passengers, particularly when the Aussies are playing,” she said.
