CLIA Australasia Expands Executive Partner Ranks
Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia has expanded its executive partner ranks with the addition of two new members – Wild Earth Travel and the South Pacific Cruise Alliance.
Wild Earth Travel is an Australasian small ship and expedition cruise wholesaler which represents numerous CLIA member lines around the globe, while the South Pacific Cruise Alliance is a Tahiti-based organisation designed to encourage the growth of cruising throughout the South Pacific region. Members of the alliance include American Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, New Caledonia, Kingdom of Tonga, Tahiti, Pitcairn and Samoa.
Welcoming the new members, CLIA Australasia General Manager Brett Jardine said the expansion of CLIA’s executive partner ranks reflected increasing recognition of the value of the cruising industry and the benefits that CLIA could offer its members.
“CLIA membership provides a platform for organisations to build their knowledge and contacts in the cruise industry as well as an opportunity to keep Australian and New Zealand specialist cruise agents informed about their product and services,” Mr Jardine said.
“As the local cruise industry expands, we continue to be encouraged by the growing number of organisations that are keen to connect with us and build their cruise business.”
Wild Earth Managing Director Aaron Russ said his company was pleased to become an executive partner.
“We see CLIA membership as a great opportunity to engage with cruise specialist travel agents who are keen to develop a greater understanding of the niche expedition cruise segment,” Mr Russ said.
SPCA President Ollivier Amaru said the alliance saw CLIA membership as an important step in the recognition of the South Pacific’s commitment to cruising.
“This is an excellent opportunity to engage with cruise lines and promote South Pacific cruises with cruise specialist travel agents through CLIA’s highly reputable network,” Mr Amaru said.
