THE NEW YORK TIMES, ONE OF THE WORLD'S MOST PRESTIGIOUS NEWS ORGANISATIONS, HAS DISCOVERED THE ATTRACTIONS OF P&O CRUISES' VOYAGES TO PAPUA NEW GUINEA.

The New York Times, one of the world’s most prestigious news organisations, has discovered the attractions of P&O Cruises’ voyages to Papua New Guinea.

In its round up of 52 ‘must see’ places in the world to experience in 2015, the publication nominated Papua New Guinea and mentioned P&O Cruises’ itineraries to Australia’s exotic northern neighbour.

This is how the NY Times described the experience:

This island nation has long been off the radar for most visitors, mainly because of the difficulty of getting there.

Tourism is set to boom, however, now that the country has begun welcoming mega-cruise ships. P&O Cruises docked its first 2,000-passenger ship in the turquoise waters of Milne Bay on the southeastern coast in late 2013, and this year it is expanding its Papua New Guinea fleet and adding several new destinations, including Madang province, a popular diving spot.

In remote areas, more eco-lodges are popping up, as well, such as the Lake Murray Lodge, a rustic retreat that opened last June on the shores of the country’s largest lake, a bird-watching paradise.

Papua New Guinea featured as the 29th destination on the New York Times’ list which can be seen here: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/01/11/travel/52-places-to-go-in-2015.html?ref=travel&_r=4
