Queen Mary 2 Scores Australian Rugby Great David Campese
Former Australian Rugby Union player David Campese has joined a strong contingent of 900 Australian guests sailing on Queen Mary 2 as she departs Fremantle for South Africa today.
With more than a third of the 2600-guests hailing from Australia, Mr Campese will build some Aussie spirit onboard during the voyage from Fremantle to Cape Town from April 2 to 18.
As a guest speaker in the Cunard Insights program, he will offer his thoughts on the 2015 Rugby World Cup and share stories from his lengthy international career which spanned 101 games.
For the journey between Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, Mr Campese will be joined by former South Africa President F W De Klerk, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 with Nelson Mandela for his role in the ending of apartheid.
Cunard prides itself on providing the finest speaker program in the cruise industry, offering guests a stellar line-up of high-calibre speakers during the world voyages of Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria.
The 151,400-tonne liner has arrived in Fremantle today and will depart this evening across the Indian Ocean en route to South Africa. Queen Mary 2 will return to the UK in time for the line’s 175th anniversary celebrations in May.
